Just wondering why there is no account of what happen during the open house at WP website. I can only get this through a posting from Vincent at YP forum: "After the break for election campaigning, WP resumed weekly open house this Monday evening, hosted by Melvin Tan (AMK GRC candidate) with co-hosts Mrs. Melvin Tan and Peasant Monkey. Total guests about 20. All mingled around and discussed election post mortem, hopes and plans for the future, etc. Hearteningly, about 5 signed up as members, while the rest indicated willingless to help and volunteer in areas that they're able to, and would consider membership at a later stage. Some guests left earlier than 10 p.m. as they have other appointments. But more than 10 guests stayed behind enthusiastically and adjourned to the coffeeshop downstairs, filling 2 big tables. About a third left at 11:30 p.m. The rest, probably after 12 a.m. or when the coffeeshop closed." www.youngpap.org.sg/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=9845

Heehee, I was one of the 100+. I was late. All seats were occupied so I had no choice but to stand and listen to Sylvia & some others talking about fairness of the Election system. Since I was alone and shy in nature, I filled up the form, being interviewed by Mr. Low Thia Khiang for a while, paid up the $10 membership fee and left. He must be wondering what is my ulterior motive of joining WP since I have a five-figure-a-month's job and not living in Potong Pasir nor Hougang. For you to find out, if we ever have a chance to meet.

Just wonder what is the reason for "interview by LTK"? as mentioned by no2moro??? Maybe to differentiate whether those who are sincere to be WP members or PAP spy!!!! $10 membership is a annual fee or lifetime membership??? Myself is not so keen to be WP member (since I am busy caring for my 5 years old boy & working late) but I don't mind donate to WP. Any bank detail for contribution to support WP?

The interview - I don't think you will be able to know someone inside out by just a simple chat. Only time will reveal a person's true intention.
I did not have a chance to take a photocopy of the membership form but I think it is $3/- per year for 3 yrs and $1/- for admin charge.

For you to find out, if we ever have a chance to meet. There are a lot of people who don't stay Potong Pasir or Hougang who are seeking for alternative voice in the parliament. I am one of the alternative party supporter being frustrated with the unfair system introduced by PAP (high election deposits, rookie mp protected by a minister in every PAP GRC, etc ) under west coast GRC who is a "walkover" again!!!!
