This has gotta be one of the most touching moments at any rally, where the whole crowd participated in taking the Singapore Pledge.
PAP would replicate this pledge taking ceremony during the next general election with little doubt, but they would be contradicting themselves when they recite ".. democratic..".
(And I bet the sparse spectators at their rally would do so with their hearts n souls).

It was a political masterstroke, one that even PAP supporters and neutral observers had nothing but the highest of compliments for.
The PAP themselves must have been taken aback by it - it was rather ironic considering that the Pledge was penned by one of the PAP's "founding fathers", S. Rajaratnam.
