The once a decade survey done last year was released by the Department of Statistics yesterday (of course after the GE!) Although the average household incomes have risen from $4,940/- per month in 2000 to $5,400/- last year, it was sadly also revealed (at last), what servants have been crying loud about.... the bottom one third had their average earnings shrunk from $1,470/- per month in 2000 to $1,180/- last year ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted by Matilah_Singapura In ALL the welfare states of the world, statistics like these will automatically place the owners of wealth in jepordy. The welfare state mentality is to immediately TAX the more productive and wealthy so that some kind of "equality" could be achieved. Where is the economic sense in making the richer a lot poorer in order to make the poor a little richer? and when this happens, the "middleman" aka the government gets the LIONS SHARE. It takes BIG chunks from the productive and gives SMALL CRUMBS to the least productive—enslaving both groups to the state.
